What's In A Name?
The votes have officially been tallied and the new name selected for the combined churches of Riverwood and Trinity is: The Crossing. The new name is already on the banner, and coming soon there will be a whole new main page for the website with some new features and new takes on old ones. Keep checking back for new updates, and don't forget to check/post updates on the discussion board.
The week has come and flown by, and though it seems like it only started yesterday, Vacation Bible School has already come to an end for this year. The joined church's efforts led to deeper ties between each respective church's workers and a great first VBS for the new church. 44 kids attended the wrap up party Friday, where parents and kids alike were able to enjoy the songs from earlier in the week, as well as viewing a short video recapping the week.
Prizes were given to every child in attendance and after a drawing the coveted bike prize went to Tiffany Caldwell who attended the 4th-5th class every day this week. Also to everyone's entertainment was the fallout resulting from the Haiti Fund Collection Contest. Jason Smith was to receive the dreaded pie to the face, but through a wild turn of events those in attendance were treated to a three way pieing of Melissa, Jason, and Beth!
After a brief talk from Zech Smith on the purpose of the Haiti Fund the guests were dismissed to enjoy popcorn, cotton candy, snowcones, hotdogs, and inflatables like the Jupiter Jump and obstacle course for the kids. By the end of the day everyone came away with a smile. Now begins, however, the equally important task of praying for the seeds planted in Bible School to come to fruition and to see each of those touched by this outreach come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
