The Refugee Sewing Society serves refugee women who have fled genocide by providing an atmosphere for healing, an opportunity to express creativity, a means for building self-esteem, and a foundation for micro-enterprise development.
The images on the right were taken before one of The Crossing's Sunday morning worship services. All these items were crafted by refugees with the program and all the proceeds of their sale went to helping the women involved rebuild their lives and trade as they live, learn, and work in Clarkston, Georgia.
